Firstly, can i just say, i adore the big splash of red in this photo. I'm not a big fan of red, i sometimes think it steals the focus of a photo, but here it did, and it worked! The textures of the fabric are just too gorgeous also. I love the shadows it creates. Such a good contrast against the model's hair also.
In my opinion, the lighting is one of the things that makes this photo so eye catching. It's harsh and bright, and is what is creating those beautiful shadows across the piece. It makes it appear almost haunting.
The only thing that i feel is out of place in this shot, is the design of the model's shirt in the centre. Maybe i just prefer simplicity too much, but the star and the colours of the pattern are rather distracting. I also feel this way about the purple of the eyeshadow. It clashes a little with the overwhelming red in this piece, but that could just be me.
Overall, i think this is a very well taken piece of photography, beautifully lit, and the model has kept me absorbed for a very long time! One scorcher from a gallery of wonderful work!
